Chaozhou, and especially Caitang Town, is one of the main production areas for stainless steel kitchenware in China. If you are planning your first custom order, this is what the process usually looks like.
1. Inquiry
Send a drawing, a sample or a link to a similar product. Include the size, steel grade, finish, logo method, packing and the quantity you expect per order. The more detail you give, the more accurate the quote.
2. Quotation and MOQ
For products made with existing tooling, the minimum order is usually low, and mixed sizes can often be combined. New shapes need new tooling, which adds a one-time mold cost and raises the minimum order.
3. Samples
Samples from existing tooling can usually be sent within a few days. Samples with a new logo, finish or packing take longer. Approve the sample in writing before mass production.
4. Production
Stamping, deep drawing, trimming, polishing and packing. Ask for photos or a short video at each stage.
5. Inspection and shipping
Check thickness, finish, logo position and packing before the goods leave. Most export orders from Chaozhou ship through Shantou or Shenzhen ports, by sea for containers or by air and express for samples and small orders.
